Account Deletion

You can delete your DriveVerse account at any time. This page explains how and what happens to your data.


How to delete your account

To permanently delete your DriveVerse account:

  1. In the DriveVerse app: Open the app → go to Edit Profile → find the account deletion option and type DELETE to confirm. Your account and linked data will then be removed.
  2. By email: If you can’t use the app or prefer to request deletion by email, contact us at support@thedriveverse.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.

What happens when you delete your account

Deletion is triggered from Edit Profile (you type "DELETE" to confirm). The app then removes your account and processes your data as follows.

What is removed (deleted)

  • Firebase Auth account — You are removed from authentication and signed out.
  • User profile document — Your profile in users/{uid} is deleted.
  • Username reference — Your username is released so it can be reused by others.
  • Car data — Vehicle data stored on your user document is removed when the profile is deleted.

What is anonymized (kept, but no longer tied to you)

The following content stays in the system but is anonymized so it is no longer linked to your identity:

  • Posts — Author is set to "Anonymous"; your name and user ID are removed.
  • Comments — Same: author set to anonymous; your identity is removed.
  • Recordings — Your user identity is removed and set to anonymous. The recordings themselves are not deleted; they remain in the system in anonymized form.

Active subscriptions

If you have an active DriveVerse Plus subscription, cancel it before or when you delete your account to avoid further charges. Subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion. You can manage your subscription in the app or via the link in Settings (Stripe customer portal).
